Teddy Roosevelt is getting cancelled, at least at the American Museum of Natural History.
I haven't taken the time to unpack how I personally feel about it yet but I'm unrelatedly reading a short Teddy Roosevelt biography and he's certainly problematic. I do know that the Intercept ran a piece today revisiting some of his problems. I haven't read it yet because I want to revisit it when I'm done with Lion in the White House. But I did ctrl+f and found that the Intercept article didn't mention what I consider to be his most egregious offense: after his proposal of marriage was refused by his best friend, he shot and killed his neighbor's dog in a fit of rage.
Tear down his statues for that.
